Gutter Repair Brackets For Half Round Cast Iron Guttering

This gutter bracket is part of our range of metal gutter brackets and this particular type is designed to help repair sagging or damaged lengths of gutter.  Manufactured in the UK from 316 stainless steel this gutter repair bracket is produced and sized for cast iron guttering and offers unrivalled strength and durability. The cup and fixing arm are joined using a strong 316 weld rather than being folded like cheaper alternatives. This process provides significantly more strength and resistance against bending. If you are wanting to use these for plastic, zinc, aluminium or cast iron effect gutters, please contact us for confirmation of sizes and speak to your guttering supplier concerning any potential reaction between the materials.

If you are looking to support your guttering without having to take it all down then this bracket is the one for you.  It is designed to fix to the fascia and support your existing rainwater goods from below.  For cast iron guttering, it would be good practise to have a bracket every 900mm (3′) or wherever the guttering is sagging.

Available in 3 sizes (4″, 4.5″ & 5″)

The arm length is approximately 120mm and has two fixing points located below the cup.

This is a quality UK manufactured bracket which is produced from a 5mm x 20mm, 316 stainless steel material providing unrivalled longevity and excellent strength in all weather.  You should also use stainless steel fixings with these brackets.

Stainless steel is used because of the corrosion resistance in a wide variety of service environments, usually without additional coatings. In certain circumstances, however, stainless steel components may require a coated (paint) finish so if you are intending to paint these, please ensure that you use the correct primer or your paint will not stick.  There are a number of metal paint products available including Hammerite ‘Special Metals Primer’ which will promote adhesion to stainless steel.

Please note that if you are purchasing for use with other types of guttering such as plastic or aluminium, that the design does not have a return on the cup and would normally rely on the weight of the cast iron to keep the guttering in the cup.  The external dimensions of cast iron guttering would usually be slightly wider than plastic or aluminium so if you are going to use these brackets for materials other than cast iron, you may need to secure your guttering to the bracket.

To ensure everything fits together neatly, our cast iron rainwater system uses internal and external pieces to couple the gutters to the fittings.  Deciding whether something is internal or external can be confusing so we have put together the graphics below to help you.

On symmetrical cast iron gutters such as the common half round you simply turn the gutter angle around to suit internal or external corners on the roof.  With the cast iron ogee gutters where the profile is asymmetrical, you need to order the correct type of angle – internal or external.

With ogee stop ends, because of the profile of the gutter they are handed – either right hand or left hand.  Stop ends are always handed when looking from the front.  Stand in front of the gutter and you will require an external stop end to cap off the end to the right, and an internal stop end to cap off the left hand end.  This also applies to the drop end outlets.
